1:45am (tuesday morning)

It's been a long, tiring, but fun, cool and interesting weekend for me.

So there is this guy Dave. He works with Zac. Zac has been telling me for a while that this guy Dave is good friends with Jeanette Lee, the reknowned 9 ball player. Last week, Zac calls me up and says "Hey, I think I'm gonna be in San Diego this weekend, Jeanette is going to be playing in a tournament in San Diego and we're gonna hang out and stuff, do you want to come?"

So I'm just thinking, hey, I'm unemployed, I've got nothing to do, and I'm not a big pool fan, but I know who she is and I know that Kenny, my old roommate idolizes her... this should be pretty cool. So the day comes, and as it turns out, the tournament is being held at Viejas Casino. No, I did not bet a single penny on anything. So we watch this match between Jeanette Lee and Tiffany Nelson. Jeanette Lee, "The Black Widow" ends up losing and is eliminated. Oh well. At least I got some good pictures, right?

Anyway, we go to meet her, and I'm fully just expecting "oh hi, here's an autograph" and not much more than that, especially after a loss and all.

Well, long story short, I got way more than that. I got to hang out the rest of the weekend with Jeanette, even going to Sea World with her and Dave. I hadn't been to Sea World since I was a little kid. So that was pretty dang cool. I highly recommend the Shark Encounter for those of you who have not been to Sea World in the last... 5 years or so. At the very end you go through this glass tunnel through the bottom of the shark tank, with sharks swimming to the left, the right and above you... pretty much all around you. And they swim pretty close by. You can see all the teeth and everything. Pretty crazy.

And man, I never knew dolphins could jump so high. And check out my mad post-card style Shamu pic. Awwww yeah hehe.

And as mean as Jeanette looks when she's making a shot, she turned out really to be one of the sweetest, kindest and most giving people I have ever met. It's almost hard to believe it's the same person looking at the Sea World pics just because all of the promo type photos of her out there have her with that mean look going on. Yup.

2:15am (thursday morning)
Today I received, and then subsequently used a Sacagawea dollar. I went to Togo's for lunch and when I got my change, the girl there gave me one of those golden dollars. I'd never seen one before. Anyway, later on, I stopped by Seafood City... that place is kinda weird. It's basically an asian supermarket I guess. Sorta like 99 Ranch, but like, with more seafood. Anyway. I just wanted to see the inside of it cuz Cami kept saying it was really crazy. I bought two dosiracs. When it comes to regular packaged ramen, Sapporo Ichiban is the bomb... but when it comes to ramen in a cup or bowl... the Koreans make the best stuff for sure. Anyway. Two for $1 on dosirac. I paid for it with the Sacagawea dollar. Weird. I haven't bought anything so valuable with a single coin since I was in Spain some 6 years ago.

I would actually make these noodles right now, if I wasn't worried about waking up Leanne. But the only thing really separating her from the kitchen is a thin sheet of fabric... and some people around here gotta go to work in the morning. And without the stove or the microwave, well it's kinda hard to boil water.

I've decided I'm gonna pretty much stop looking for jobs outside of San Diego. I mean, if I get something totally kick-ass that pays well, then yeah, I'd still be willing to move, but the fact of the matter is that my next job I probably won't enjoy all that much. And if I'm not gonna be doing something I really like, well, at least I can live somewhere that I absolutely love... like San Diego. So moving to LA just might not happen, ya dig?
