eez! Is it really already the end of August? Where is all this time going? Anyway, on my way back down to San Diego, I saw one of those cars with one of those roof racks with two of those plastic kayaks on top. It was a few lanes over to my right. Anyway, I saw in slow motion the kayaks lift off the car, taking the entire rack with it and flying away and landing on the freeway behind it at like 80 MPH. That sure was exciting to see!
Today I didn't really do much. I only went in to work for like 2 hours. I did buy a new hard drive and some more memory for my computer though... and now I have enough parts left over to build another computer that is essentially the machine I had a year ago. Heh.
Went to the grocery store with Cami and Mary. We bought food for tomorrow night. When we came back, I devised a way to tell fortunes using a 4 deck shoe and dealing hands of blackjack. Basically, you deal 3 hands, plus a dealer's hand. The first hand symbolizes love, the second is money, and the third is health. The dealer's hand is the course of life. You play the hands out using straight basic strategy. If your hand beats the dealer, than you are successful in that arena. And if not, than not.
Mary with her Queen of Spades demands to know who her Ace of Diamonds is, while Cami... I don't know what Cami is doing.
And then you make all kinds of interperetations depending on what particular cards came out, how many times you had to hit... if you busted, what the bust card was... and also how many cards the dealer had to take and what the bust card was.
The most interesting fortune to tell was Mary's. In the love section she had 2 aces which needed to be split. I determined that this mean there were 2 different guys. Except after the split, the second ace received another ace, and in the end there were really 3 different guys. Well after some telling, I did another hand to try to determine who these guys were, and it turned out that two of them knew each other. And all kinds of crazy other stuff. If you come over and visit, maybe I will tell you your fortune according to blackjack.
I think I want to start a talk-show webcast. I want to call it "Apartment 26", featuring myself and the two hot chicks that I live with that I'll never get (and the notion that I'll never get them was only confirmed by the magic blackjack deck), talking about various topics, relationships probably being the most recurring one. There will be me, the nerdy one, Cami, the "alternative" one and Mary the player hehe. The way I envision it, there won't be live call-in people, but you will be able to interract with the hosts through an internet chat room or something. Maybe I should talk to them about this idea :) By the way, for you stalkers out there, no, we do not actually live in apt. #26. That number just goes with the domain name of this website, which, well what do you know, me and cami both share right now, so we are sort of like roommates on the web right now too. Mary doesn't have a website though... at least, not one that I know of.
Anyways, I should probably go to bed now, especially since I plan to wake up an hour earlier than usual to go to work and get an extra hour in. And I finally finished off that roll of film, pictures should be coming very soon!

his update is going to be kind of short, only because I just spent the last hour writing only the first third of the Vegas update and I'm kind of sick of writing. But I will say that I finally got that roll of film developed, and I put up one of the pictures (the one above with Cami and Mary and the cards), and you will be seeing the rest in a very large update to twentysix.net that will be coming soon (not related to the Vegas update). That picture was actually taken last night, along with a couple of other ones that I took just to use up the rest of the film.

ow what an eventful day this has been. First, I got a job. After CAPE ends, I'll be working as a web designer for this company that is nearby... nearby enough for me to not even have to get on the freeway to get there. Secondly, after work, since I knew Cami was going out to dinner, and that Mary always comes home late, I decided to eat dinner by myself at TGIFridays in La Jolla. I haven't been there since I moved to apartment 26. Well as it turns out, my favorite bartender, Amanda (a.k.a. Mindy), was working her very last shift there. She's going on a crazy European vacation and then moving back home to apply to grad schools and stuff. She's very nice, cute, and sassy, and will be sorely missed as one of those people who "know my name" at that place where everybody knows my name. But even I don't go back there anymore, I mean, it's been like 2 months since the last time I went there. But I did play some NTN and do well.
Sylvain Gaillard, my update's biggest fan
I got an e-mail from a Sylvain who I believe resides in the Boston area. He just wanted to let me know that he likes my page. Well thanks, your e-mail was definitely appreciated. His website is http://www.geocities.com/sylvain_gaillard/index.html and on it he has an update page that is modeled after mine, and on his 411 page, he claims that twentysix.net (and particularly this update) is his favorite website. Ahahahaha. That's so weird to think that someone's favorite website is the one where I talk about my no-chick-getting life ahahaha. Anyways, hit up his website, he knows lots of cute girls, and for you ladies out there, although he appears to be taken by his own woman, he is not so bad to look at himself.
And I'm still working on that Vegas update. It's coming. Really.

eing at CAPE is really starting to wear on me. I am getting very bored. And the work is very tedious, and this is my 5th year doing it and I am pretty glad that it's going to end. You know what I like though... is that Cami gets home from work right around the armpit of my workday, when I am getting really bored and don't want to be there the most. And she always ICQ's me and says "hey!" and something about that exclamation point just brightens my day. Sounds silly and corny, but it seriously helps. Especially the exclamation point.
So while I was ICQing with Cami at work, I mentioned to her that I really miss Helen. That was when Cami informed me that we had gotten letters from Helen that day! Wow, how cool! So when I got home I opened up my letter from Helen and it came with some pictures from the Del Mar Fair from that time that me and Cami and Helen all went. One of the pictures was of me and her, and amazingly enough, Helen is smiling, is happy and her eyes are open all at the same time!! This truly is cause for celebration, as it is such a rare occurrence!
Tonight, Ben, Cami and I went to see The Cell. The first half of the movie was horrible. The dialog was so poorly written that I thought I was gonna die. The second half of the movie was better because after they explained how everything worked, no one really had to talk anymore, and then the movie improved a lot. The second half was visually stunning, and was very good in that respect. And since no one really had to talk so much, none of that crappy dialog really got in the way. There was one visual effect that I didn't really like so much though, and that was a computer animated segment of being sucked into "the cell" or whatever. The resolution was so bad that it looked worse than some computer games that I have played. Ben described it as looking like a Winamp visualization plugin, which is what it looked like. Other than that, the visual elements of this movie were well done.
Lawrence is coming down tomorrow. We're going to Viejas. Cami is going home this weekend. I don't know what Mary is planning. I may even go in to work on Monday even though it is a holiday. We'll have to see though.

oday as I left the CAPE office and walked to my car, I saw the ocean on the way to the parking lot. Big deal, I see the ocean every day. But the sky was so clear and the water was such a deep, rich blue, I couldn't help but keep staring at it. It was so hypnotic. Viejas was good to me tonight. Not so good to Lawrence though. The Vegas update is about two-thirds done right now but I'm just too sleepy right now to work on it. But I am in a good mood, and all in all, life has been very good to me. Somehow I knew that 2000 was going to be a great year for me, and it's been so great.
