appy new year, everybody! I hope the holidays treated everyone well. I spent my new year's eve shopping for a new-to-me car, and I did end up buying something! But as has been the tradition ever since the Rice-Boy Page came into existence, I cannot reveal online what it is that I'm driving! But yeah, the last few days have just been so much running around and hectic madness, and though I love seeing and hanging out with my family, I'm more than ready to take a few days to just relax and collect my thoughts!
Here's an interesting fortune I got from a fortune cookie tonight:

Well, there was the cute girl working at the new Jollibee... but I had that impulse before I got this cookie :)

hhh the last week or so has just been a roller coaster of excitement and anticipation followed by extreme disappointment. I got the car, but I couldn't get it insured because none of the agents were working on new years day, so I couldn't drive it. So I headed back to San Diego because I had to work on the first and second, in my old car, instead of the new one. Of course, that's when my old car gets stolen... again. But then I wasn't too broken up about it because it would be a lot easier to just collect insurance money than it would have been to fix it up and try to sell it. Then while I was riding on the train back up to my parents house to collect my new car, I got a phone call from the police telling me that my car had been recovered. So much for just sitting back and collecting the insurance money! So now I'm stuck with having to fix whatever damage was done while the car was stolen, along with fixing the stuff I had originally wanted to fix, and of course, along with having to sell the car. Argh.
But the new car is now insured, though the registration process was all mucked up due to the first person I talked to at AAA messing up the forms that I needed to get the previous owner to sign... so I ended up having to visit the previous owner twice. Hopefully when I go back to turn everything in tomorrow, everything is in order and I won't have to bother the previous owner again, and the thing will be happily registered in my name. I did have a rather enjoyable time driving the new car around today with the fabulous weather we were having though!
Tomorrow I have the enjoyable task of going out to the yard where my stolen car is being stored. I hope it isn't TOO bad. Ugh.
