1:30am, Wednesday Morning
Some major developments in the life of Bryan today. I've been hit by dot-com doom. Maybe. Maybe? Well, I work for a very small company, that is mainly funded by one guy. Well due to some recent developments, he may not be able to continue, even if he wants to. We'll know for sure on Tuesday (a week from now). So until then, we've all got that time off. Which is way better than some of the other stories I've heard, of people working for weeks with no pay and stuff like that. I'm wondering if it's possible for all three of us roommates can actually all be employed at once.

Anyway, don't worry about me. I've got plenty of money saved up in case I do find myself out of a job, so right now I'm mainly focusing on taking advantage of not having to work this week. You know, waking up late, doing whatever I want, and generally enjoying myself. Actually, today I accomplished quite a bit, including filing my taxes. I should be seeing about a $750 refund -- with over $260 of that coming from state taxes! My state tax refunts lately have been like $17 or whatever. This is my first real refund from the state :) Also, I'll be able to take advantage of one of these days off to go have the 90,000 mile service on my car done since I won't need it to go to work!

This past weekend, I went to the World Famous San Diego Zoo for the first time in the part of my life that I can actually remember. This is after 5+ years of me living here in San Diego. And it was great.

2:20am, Saturday Morning
For the first time in months and months, I went to Disneyland tonight. Earlier this afternoon I battled mad traffic to get to my folk's place, where I'm visiting for the weekend. Lawrence and I decided to meet at Disneyland tonight, as he also has not had a chance to go there in a long time. When we got there he was hungry so we went to the Blue Bayou and got some dessert which was great. The raspberry cheesecake was so good. I love Disneyland. We also caught a showing of Fantasmic. And what a great show it is.

A lot has in the months since I last went. Disney's California Adventures, the second theme park has also opened up. And so has "Downtown Disney". Downtown Disney actually ended up being better than I expected. It's basically a collection of stores, restaurants and bars (including a House of Blues) that is open to the public, no admission charge. And yes, they do serve alcohol in these bars. Some of the restaurants look really great, and the place is pretty hoppin' on a weekend night, with lots of people hanging out and stuff. It's a pretty fun place to be. And of course, my camera was there.

I've sent out some resumes to some places -- most notably, I've sent out a number of resumes for a number of different jobs at Sony Pictures Entertainment. Yes, that would mean that I am considering moving to Los Angeles. The market for designers has really dried up in San Diego, so I may not have any choice. And I'm also looking for jobs in (surprise) Las Vegas, although there aren't really a whole lot of tech jobs out there to start with. But who knows, maybe I have nothing to worry about and I still have my job. We'll soon find out, come tuesday.
