elcome to the very first update of the year 2000! This update will cover the entire first week of the new year I guess. So that being said, I guess I'll start with the beginning... new year's eve. New year's eve I went to Disneyland with Lawrence, Mimi, and two of Law's friends from norcal. It was really cool. It was also really crowded. Moving around was like, rubbing shoulders all day. But it wasn't that bad, really. I mean, we rode on a lot of rides and did a lot of fun stuff, so it was OK. One of Lawrence's friends ended up picking up some high school chick that claimed to be 18, but I'm not so sure. Or rather, she picked him up. He was pretty desperate I guess. So we kinda ditched them.
It was kinda rainy/drizzling the whole day. I've never really been to Disneyland in the rain before, it was actually pretty cool. Anyway... they really went all out for the occasion. They put a gigantic digital countdown clock on the front of the castle. Also, those bright white lights that shine on the Matterhorn... well they were all changing colors and there were also a lot of projections flying around like clocks and "1999"s and stuff. There was music all over the place, and just tons of people around.
They also gave out some free party favors, like hats and noisemakers. They also gave out a glow stick, with some stuff printed on it. It was actually supposed to be a "wishing wand". There were about 3 or 4 different countdown locations. We chose to hang out on Main Street, and man was it packed!! All the way from the castle to the front
Do you ever feel like this guy?
gate it was just shoulder to shoulder. And there were so many people there that it was just like... no holds barred. People were sitting on everything, behind fences, on top of rocks, whatever... and there were women in the men's bathroom and everything. Really crazy.
So right before midnight, they turned all the lights down and we were all supposed to wave our glowing wishing wands and make a wish. Then right after that was the countdown, followed by the fireworks and stuff. It was really wild, and lots of fun, just being with so many people to celebrate the new year.

o I guess now I will talk about the other stuff that happened this week. Well, I got back to San Diego. I went skating a lot with Mimi. I even went surfing the other day for the first time in like 2 years. The water was cold and I was really out of shape, but it was fun.
I've been digitizing some selections from the Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation video that I have, like Fast Driver, Yes, Timmy, There Is A Santa Claus and Billy's Balloon. I also grabbed that No Neck Joe picture that I put up here. I guess that's pretty much how I've been occupying my time. Other than that things have been fairly uneventful, and as far as today goes, mostly I've just been staying home trying to relax and stuff.

an, I gotta say that today pretty much just sucked overall. First of all, last night, my main hard drive crashed. Man that's what I get for bragging about how stable my computer has been. Anyway... i spent the better part of today getting everything back to normal (or pretty close). But it's already acting up again. GRRRRRR.
Secondly, I went out to my car to go get some lunch when I noticed that my front left tire had a big tumor on the sidewall. Blech. But Cami happily accompanied me to discount tire center so I wouldn't have to wait by myself. Came out to right about $200 for 2 new front tires. Damn, I can think of a bunch of better ways to use that money. But at least while we were waiting me and Cami went to Baskin Robbins and had some ice cream.
I really hope this thing doesn't crash again, I don't want to spend all day fixing it again!! Plus I lost a lot of stuff, like, oh, all of my digital camera photo archives. GRRRRRRRRR!! School starts the day after tomorrow. Yay.
